Small Businesses Benefits From Funding & Good Governance: CBC News

My latest interview with CBC was an empowering experience that reinforced my conviction in the immense potential of Black-owned businesses across Canada. I feel privileged to have played a role in propelling the growth trajectories of numerous organizations throughout my 18-year career in the hospitality, and business development sectors.

As an established professional in this space, I’ve witnessed firsthand the ingenuity, hard work, and dedication of entrepreneurs and SME across Canada. However, statistics reveal sobering realities – from education and employment disparities to persistent income inequality that remains stubbornly higher for the Black population. Now more than ever, it is fundamental that the foundation to champion entrepreneurs and businesses is grounded in strong board governance, professional training, and strategic development to minimize any obstacles to Black success nationwide.

As a dedicated community builder with extensive leadership experience managing multimillion-dollar operations, developing high-performing teams, and driving innovation, I aim to offer a unique perspective to organizations seeking to foster inclusive growth and disrupt systemic barriers.  I am eager to collaborate with like-minded visionaries to build a more equitable future, one where Black entrepreneurs have a level playing field to thrive.

With Love,

Angelina Williams
